WEEK 14
CLASS UPDATE
There are many things exciting things going on in Room 12. First of all, I would like to thank the parents for their wonderful food for our party last Friday. Tara O'Boy picked up our Subway sandwiches and cookies, Jennifer brought carrots and dip, Suzanne Fisher brought us grapes and Kellie made pumpkin oatmeal cookies. They ate ALL of the food and it was quite a fun day. The students deserved it with all of their hard work the first trimester.
Here are some quick updates:
* This weekend I started a new class blog with a link from this blog called ROOM 12 WRITERS. This blog will showcase exemplary writing from Room 12. Specifically, I will post some of our "Thankful Writing" this week. The web address is: http://room12riodelmar.blogspot.com.
* Report Cards will go home this Friday. I will be going over the report cards with each student and we will set goals together for next trimester.
* The class will be celebrating our annual Thanksgiving Feast this Friday,
November 16th. Please fill out the slip I sent home with three dishes you would like to share with the class. Don't worry...I will only choose one. This is so our class has a balanced meal for Friday instead of twelve pumpkin pies. Ideally, this should be a favorite family recipe. Please include your child in each step of the process to prepare this dish.
*Field Trip Forms will be going home this week for our next field trip on Friday, December 7th when we go to Long's Marine Lab and learn about Otters.
* We are starting our new Social Studies Unit on Explorers this week. We will be starting our new unit in Science when we get back from the Thanksgiving Break.
* Students should be working on their Cereal Box Book Report, which is due Friday, November 30th. Hopefully they won't wait until the last minute to finish it!
