WEEK 25
Dear Parents,
This week our class will be learning how to write a five-paragraph essay. We will be focusing on the importance of using transition words and organization (topic sentence, slowing down being specific, stopping and giving details and examples and ending with a well-developed conclusion).
The 4th and 5th grades will be having a test this Friday in Science. The 4th Graders will be taking their assessmenst on The Properties of Matter while the 5th Grade students will take their test on Weather.
In addition, we will be starting our new chapters in Social Studies. The 4th Graders will be learning about Manifest Destiny and the move westward. The 5th grade students will be focusing on the Colonies.
Our class earned another party this coming Friday. We will celebrate with a movie chosen by the class, pizza and karaoke.
Please remember that if your child does not understand any concept/standard we are learning, they are always welcome to come before school and get some support. Very few students take advantage of this opportunity.
Cordially,
J Martin Sweet
